You win some, you lose some
The 4th and final fight in the alliance tournament happeend yesterday and in order for EM to have qualified, they would have had needed to win vs ASCN 5 - 0.
As it was they just ground to a stalemate with neither side able to do any lasting damage to the other, and the the fight was called at a draw. So ASCN go through and we don't, though it does mean no further ship losses were incurred and thus we saved several hundred millions of ISK.
