[Early Morning]

Ysolde's eyes snapped open and her enhanced vision quickly adjusted to the darkness of her room, no sounds but for her own fast-paced breathing. It was the third time she'd had that dream... but now things were different. It told of a future that could no longer happen. It didn't make any sense, not after what she had been told during her Voluval.

She rolled over, now very much wide awake, and considered the dream. It remained crystal clear in its entirety instead of quickly fading into nothing, which further intrigued her.
The mundanity of management, the irritation of poorly-timed communications, the adrenaline of combat and the shock of betrayal. The people of Hunchaan would never do that to their own, would they?

Something bothered her deeply.

Giving up on trying to get back to sleep, Ysolde had a quick shower and a glass of naranj juice. Maybe she should pester her Republic Fleet contacts to get better security staff for their VIPs... then remembered the news article on the apparent coup by one of their senior captains and the subsequent loss of a Mothership, two Carriers and their backing fleet.

Something continued to bother her but she couldn't put her finger on it.

Connecting comms and downloading the transmission's she'd missed, there was more spam waiting for her accompanied by ISK pyramid schemes and an uninteresting offer from an agent regarding supplies of enriched Uranium which she might have once paid attention to had she still been the research scientist she once was.
There was also news of some downed pirates from her Alliance which cheered her up. Enemies of the Republic that preyed on the weak and infested the outer systems deserved nothing more than an artillery shell to the reactor core.

Once again something bothered her. Unconsciously her mind was trying to put together fragments of something and she had no idea what or why.

With some surprise, she noted that the ship systems and AI of her Sabre-class Interdictor had been left active over the night. A cursory scan showed nothing else out of the ordinary.

There was clearly a bigger picture, one she couldn't yet see or grasp for herself. She absent-mindedly traced along one of her glittering silver Voluval tatoos, and came to realise with a jolt what she needed to do.

If only she knew a Vherokior Mystic...
